This saturday was my first 8km run. It did contain a bit of walking (300m) up one of the nastier hills on the course, but in general was not too bad. It took 50:16 to complete the jog, but I know I was traveling fairly slowly towards the end, so plenty of room to improve, and get it down closer to 40min over time.

The run itself seemed fairly easy when compared to my 6km run although I am not really sure why as thereĀ seems to be just as many if not more hills than the 6km route. My only guess is that because the route is more north-south while the 6km one is more east-west that the wind may have some effect.

For those who are interested, linked below are my new 7 & 8km run routes.

You're making some great progress. The wind can make a huge difference for sure.
Well done!

That's a pretty good time for your first 8K run. I don't think I'd be running that fast for an 8K run, at least not the first one anyway. :P

So have you recorded how much weight have you lost since you started running? Out of curiosity... as I recall, all these sort of started as the wedding is approaching...

If you haven't tried, physicsdiet.com is a nice website for recording weight daily, and it works out the average weight for you etc. :)

The problem right now is that the scales we have are only accurate to the nearest 0.5Kg, and even then I am not entirely sure how accurate they are.

Assuming accuracy of the scales the weight loss is somwhere inbetween 3 & 4Kg. Anyway, the goal is to loose 10-12Kg, so getting there slowly.
