There is an interesting little quiz @ pundit.co.nz where you can compare your opinions on various topical issues and see how your opinions match up against the policy of each of the parties with a chance of winning an election seat. (Note the poll does not currently include the Maori Party). The poll can be found here. Not surprisingly my compatability results are:
Interestingly enough the two area's that I am in most disagreement with National is the Economy & Taxes and Education sections with 44% and 67% respectively. The difference of opinion in the is ceneterd mostly on the issue of a tax free zone at the bottom of the income scale much like is currently available in Australia which I support but National does not, a redefinition of the Reserve Bank Act to have less focus on Inflation and to look at other measures, and to keep the research fund for the pastoral sector both of which I support. (There is still plenty of room to trim fat from the bloated and inefficient education sector.) On the Education side of things I strongly appose the no fail NCEA system that we currently have that National has a neutral stance for, and I am also neutral on bonding graduates to stay in New Zealand with discounts on their student loan. So let me know how the rest of you poll. Quote this article on your siteTo create link towards this article on your website, copy and paste the text below in your page.
